side;; GOOD. Obviously (: he’s the brains behind the brawwnnnn.
Appearences Are Everything[/size]
appearence;; His hair is, literally, his crowning glory. It’s that wintery shade of charcoal black and it’s famously made women stop and awe at him, not only when he was a baby. He usually keeps it at that medium length, letting it hang boyishly around his fairly pale face. When wet it goes an even darker black and looks even glossier than when dry, but it goes straight. Adam with straight hair? Well, yes, NOT good look. The only time you will see Alexander without straight hair is when it’s wet, and even then he will have thrust his hair around with his hand so much that it’ll look messy enough. However, when his mother see him with longer hair than she’d like she cuts it off, telling him that he looks ‘absurd’ and ‘immature’, not forgetting ‘muggle like’.
His eyes do, actually, remind some people of the darkest canyons or the deepest corners or whatever drivel poets write about. They are quite small but their make up for it with a large dose of chocolaty brown iris in each socket. He has long, thick, black eyelashes that surround each chocolaty brown eye and, even though they are slightly feminine, make him look, in his opinion, quite attractive. His smile is large and make his lips curl into a handsome grin. His teeth are exposed in all their white glory and tiny, little dimples appear on the corners of his cheeks.
Adam’s dress sense is, to say the least, strange. For a Wizard he isn’t exactly the most conventional dresser, however, he does drive around in a big blue bus, close to muggles. When his father ever questions what he’s wearing he just tells him he’s just come from the station [after all that’s the only time he ever see shim really] and that’s why he’s dressed a little like a muggle. However, this isn’t the case, Adam actually like wearing muggle clothes, finding them to be more comfortable. He looks as if he has stepped straight out of the eighties, clad in jeans, shiny shoes, shirts, waistcoats and fedoras, but mixed it with the muggle current fashions, converse trainers, metallic brogues and anything else he can get his hands on at a charity shop. When in the company of relatives, especially pureblood ones, he wears a suit. Usually a black suit with a black polo neck underneath, something that, he claims, makes him look like a philosopher missing his glasses.
summary;; Nerd on very long legs with messy hair and big ol’ eyes.
height;; Six foot three inches [and a half]
weight;; ABOUT eleven stone or something. He doesn’t weigh himself. To be honest, he doesn’t care.
anything else;; you lufffff ‘im.
More Details
personality;; Adam is optimistic. He will always try and see the bright side of the situation. Like, for some, getting stuck in a lift is a bad thing. Right? Well, Adam thinks it’s a good time to have some alone time without being bothered. Or having a bad headache? Adam would say it’s a good thing to learn from. However, this chirpy optimism often annoys some people so when it comes to friends he can often be annoying. He is, generally, a fairly happy-go-lucky person. He can normally be seen smiling or reading, but he tries not to let anything et him down.
He is the geekiest, nerdiest, dorkiest person you will ever meet in your entire life. He’s the kind of person who bursts out laughing about something that happen yesterday or laughs at his own jokes or, if he didn’t find it so annoying I’m sure he would, gigglesnorts. As in, snorts when he laughs. He can be quite sweet and charming but it is often on one off moments when that happens. He can’t dance, but he says he dances how he dances because he’s crazy cool, when really it’s because he doesn’t have any co-ordination. He’s clumsy, and can always be found bumping into things or people, again.
When in front of his father he is quite a different man. He’s quiet, shy and very, very pessimistic. He puts on this façade to please his father, this cold, bitter, sarcastic man coming out only in his parents company. His father was never the type to get close to his children and so Adam never showed him that he would have quite liked to get to know his dad, instead of having to get to know the Professors at school as a substitute.
However, in contrast he is quite sensitive. He doesn’t like to show he’s upset about anything, he prefers to keep it to himself. He is far too proud of his intelligence sometimes. If he Is stuck on a question or a equation he won’t let others help him, he wants to do it himself. Sometimes, this ends up in him getting to the brink of insanity because he really, really wants to finish it and he just can’t wrap his head around it. He is a perfectionist, so this combination of pride and perfectionism really doesn’t work well. It can take him ages to do anything because he wants to get done right, so if I was you, I wouldn’t ask him to do anything.

family;; Theodore Crofts
Adam’s and Theodore’s relationship should be great. Being the first born son Adam and Theodore should have a bond that no others have, a special connection. However, for this couple it didn’t occur. Of course, as a young child he and his father got on, after all, Theodore loved sports and Adam enjoyed being outside...sort of. However, when Adam started to go to Hogwarts the pair grew apart rapidly. Adam began to form his own opinions of things which conflicted with his father’s, he learnt not to voice them before his father, and slowly the pair became just two people who shared the same blood.
Daphne [Nee Riley] Crofts
Adam loves his mother, of course, she is his mother. However, he often finds the woman to be a little too overbearing and interfering. He tells her, and has told her, a lot that he isn’t a child anymore but a full grown [well, nearly] adult who doesn’t need the constant attention. However, she chooses to ignore this and continue to irritate him with talk of marriage and children. Not Adam’s scene. However, she had decided that she was to take it into her own hands to find him a woman to marry. Adam didn’t want to get married, he was not even close to be ready.
Meredith Daphne Crofts
Adam’s little sister, four years younger than himself. This young female is practically a carbon copy of her mother, blonde and blue eyes all attributes of the girl. As a child Adam and her didn’t exactly get on very well, he wanted to be on his own while he did things and she wanted to…well, be with him while he did things. During Adam’s teens he became more aware of his younger sister’s feelings and more sympathetic towards the girl, until she started Hogwarts. Male attention came her way and Adam did not take kindly to hearing comments about his little sister and so used his intelligence, occasionally getting caught for hexes or curses he shot at others.
Lance Tobias Crofts
Just a single year younger than Meredith and a full five young than Adam. Lance was very much like Theodore, sporty, arrogant and just another person who Adam didn’t exactly get along with. In contrast to his father, Lance was much louder and more boisterous, where as his father was quieter, much more like Adam in that sense. However, when Lance started Hogwarts Adam couldn’t help but point out what mistakes he was making and help him, thus forming more of a brotherly bond between the pair as they progressed.
history;; On the 1st November it was a cold, winter, bitter evening. The screams of a woman in labour could be heard from a room in St Mungo’s hospital where Daphne Nott lay in labour. The husband of Mrs Crofts, Theodore, was outside pacing. His father had died in Azkaban and was not there to witness the moment, not to mention the fact his mother had died many years before. The only person for comfort was himself, his father and mother in law were nowhere to be seen. As a large scream came from behind the door where his child as being born he sat in silence, his eyes wide as he stared at the door. No sound. He bit his bottom lip, this seemingly emotionless man was now more frightened than he’d ever been in his entire life. Then the door was pealed open and a friendly looking Healer nodded at him. He quickly rushed into the room to find his wife sweating heavily and a wailing baby wrapped up resting in her arms. A smile brushed over Theodore’s lips as he strode forward and looked down art him wife and child, watching her piercing blue eyes lift to look up at him as he smiled down at her. Wiping the sweat from her forehead he rested a kiss there as he took the baby from her tired arms and into his own, sitting down to stare in awe at his son.
The naming process was one that took, practically, no consideration. He was to have the named Theodore for his middle name and Adam for his first, Adam was Theodore’s middle name. As a child he’d always hated being Theodore like his father and because his father had passed he was happy to break the chain of Theodore Crofts. Adam’s life was perfect. He was given the best of everything; the finest food, the finest friends, the finest toys. Anything this inquisitive little boy wanted, he was given. After all, he was heir to everything Theodore and Daphne owned, he was the heir to Crofts. Just four years later and Adam was sat down by his parents. They went on to explain that his mother was pregnant and, soon, going to have another baby. His mother was trying her hardest to make it appear all sparkly and nice, like floating on clouds, but Adam didn’t really understand. All he understood was that he’d no longer be at the top. Then nine months later a baby girl was born.
At first Adam was resentful of the baby girl, not wishing to be near her all too often or for too long. However, as a child he didn’t quite understand. A year later and he was in the same situation again, yet another baby was going to be born. By the time Lance was born he was a whole five years old and he was blissfully ignorant about how a baby boy would affect him. But it did. Lance was getting more of his father’s attention, as if he was trying to mould him into a carbon copy Theodore Crofts. Adam didn’t mind all that much after a while, he spent most of his life in the houses’ library on his own, picking up books and reading them very carefully, tales of dragons, brave wizards and witches. It was only until he hit the summer before his eleventh birthday when he got a shock. His father began to talk to him about school, Hogwarts or Dumstrang. Apparently, the bright young boy had received a letter form both schools, narrowly missing one form Beauxbatons, and now had to choose. Adam had no idea, but once he heard where Dumstrang was he immediately picked Hogwarts. No way was he leaving England.
His first trip to Diagon Alley was a boring one, or so he decided. His mother was over emotional, nearly crying as she picked out his school things and overly annoying when he got fitted for robes. Even as a child he’d been fairly tall and lanky so getting robes was a little more difficult for him. On the 1st September he found himself on Platform 9 and 3/4, ready to board the Hogwarts Express. His mother cried as he pulled him into a hard hug and his father looked blankly on as he shook his son’s hand. Adam remembered the words ‘don’t let the family down’ being hissed into his ear by his father as he boarded he scarlet train. However, he knew he wouldn’t, he was too smart to let the family down. As he arrived at the castle he was stunned, it was so much larger than he’d first imagined. The sorting ceremony quickly came and went and as he was sorted into <insert house here although we all know it’s Ravenclaw> a large cheer was heard from the other side of the hall.
His school years were some of his most contented times. He excelled in most of his classes, if you don’t count divination or history of magic. Although the boy never enjoyed quidditch he did take to flying. He thoroughly enjoyed the lessons, the non competitive side most, and even with the one minor slip up in his first few lessons, got on very well with Madam Hooch. Or so he though, he’d never actually asked if she liked him or not. In his fifth year was when he started to worry. O.W.L.S were rapidly approaching and he was worried he’d fail. His social life became practically zero and he spent a lot of his time making up for lost time by studying hard, doing homework and keeping up his intelligence by reading. He later found out that he’d achieved a fantastic set of results.

He was delighted and on showing his parents so had his mother. His father had smiled, nodded and said ‘well done’. Adam had become increasingly annoyed withy his father and stormed off, why couldn’t he just give him that one ‘I’m proud of you’ he wanted? So as he embarked upon his seventh year he vowed to get all e’s and O’s in his N.E.W.TS and then become and auror, something that would earn him the up most respect from his father. Ha. In his face.

Kate sighed hard as she pushed open the door to the model lounge. With her ipod headphones in her ears she pushed a strand of sandy blonde hair behind her ear, her eyes fixated on the floor beneath her soft leather, flat pumps feet. These shocking red shoes were her saviour of the week, she’d been walking about to much that if she’d not had them she was certain blisters would have smothered her feet. With her legs in dark blue denim jeans, and her torso covered in nothing more than an old Rolling Stones t-shirt. Of course, she had a jacket under her arm but Kate didn’t need one, sure she was freezing cold but it was nice being cold, she didn’t want the warmth.
Sighing she dropped her eyes to the floor beneath her feet as she walked. She wasn’t bored but she was feeling sympathetic. She felt sorry for her kids. Yes, the ‘patients’, as they were called even if Kate preferred the term students, were hers. Well, it wasn’t like many others actually gave a damn about them. Kate was definitely one in a million when it came to the doctors at Whitakers. Although, and Kate said it herself, she wasn’t a real doctor. Being a psychologist was not worthy a Doctor in front of her name. With song playing in her ears she mouthed the words carefully to herself, her clear eyes looking down at her feet carefully.
Finally She reached her destination, even if she ahdn’t known if t was her destination at first. A pale wooden bench, old with moss growing around it’s legs. Wonderful. With one arm folded across her chest and the other balanced on it, ipod in hand, she sighed again, dropping her eyes to the black as night mp3 player. She hated the waiting period, in between school and not being at school when she had nothing to do but sit, wait and drink manky coffee. A few had been allowed out on good behaviour and Kate had been forced to go into town with them. Unlike the rest of the doctors she said she’d let them go on their own as long as they stayed together. After all, if they stayed in a group they’d think Kate was with them, but none of them really wanted Kate there. She was so sure of it.
As Kate Nash’s voice slowly fled into her ears it sparked memories, the young girl singing about things that Kate had done. With memories of herself proceeding to get drunk and to cry, to get stuck in awkward situations when she accidentally used her powers, unwanted attention. It was all too familiar to Katherine Knight. It gotten her to being a thirty six year old psychologist helping kids who didn’t want help in a loveless life. Quite a depressing thought for Kate as she was usually happy, smiling and brightly greeting others like she’d known them her entire life. Sigh. Sometimes, things just changed.
